Barclays U23 Premier League action returns to Leigh Sports Village on Monday (9th January, 7pm kick off) as Manchester United U23s take on Manchester City EDS. This is a fixture not to be missed, with match day information as below.

Tickets

As with all Manchester United fixtures at Leigh Sports Village, entry to this game is free of charge. If you wish to attend this fixture, you need to register your details here and then follow the instructions that will be sent to you via e-mail, with no need to claim any tickets or print anything to bring on the evening of the game.

Turnstiles

Turnstiles for this fixture will open at 6pm, with all supporters entering before 6.30pm automatically entered in to a free prize draw to win a signed Paul Pogba shirt.

Travel

Please take a look at the off site parking maps here, but please be aware that Car Park 8 and Pennington Flash on the map are not available for this fixture.

There is a limited amount of on-site parking available at Leigh Sports Village, all free of charge. Access to these car parks is via Sale Way, situated directly off A579 Atherleigh Way, with stewards on hand to direct cars where necessary.

Further car parking is available at Leigh Miners Rangers ARLFC (10 minutes’ walk from the stadium; situated on Twist Lane, WN7 4EF).

There are also numerous pay and display car parks situated in Leigh town centre, approximately 10-15 minutes’ walk from the stadium.

All approaches to the stadium and town centre, in particular A579 Atherleigh Way and A580 East Lancashire Road, are expected to be busy and supporters are advised to allow extra time for their journey.

Vantage Bus

A special Vantage service from Central Manchester will run to and from Leigh Sports Village for the game.

Vantage will be extending the popular V1 service to and from the game to help fans with their journey. Vantage offers luxury e-leather seating, WiFi, USB charging points, plenty of leg room and tables on the upper deck – so you can travel to the game in style!

The special trips will be numbered SV1 and will run the normal route of the Vantage V1 service from Manchester City Centre, through Salford, past the Park & Ride, and along the Guided Busway to Leigh. The service will then continue to Leigh Sports Village, arriving at 1829, perfect for the 1900 start time.

The SV1 will return from Leigh Sports Village after the game at 2100, heading back to Leigh, Salford and Manchester.

The usual range of Vantage tickets can be purchased and used on the service – including the popular £4.20 FirstDay ticket which offers unlimited travel on all Vantage and First Manchester buses for the whole day.

If you’re travelling from further afield, why not try the East Lancashire Road Park and Ride, which is free to use and offers 250 parking spaces.

Leigh bus station is situated in the town centre and is served with regular connections from Manchester, Bolton, Wigan, Warrington and St. Helens. The bus station is a 10 minute walk from the stadium, or alternatively the 597 bus service, operated by South Lancs Travel, runs directly from the bus station to the stadium.

Security Procedures

On advice from Greater Manchester Police, please be aware that overt searches, such as bags and personal searches will take place to detect any prevent any prohibited articles from entering the stadium and to provide a visual deterrent.

This searching is conducted under the authority of the Leigh Sports Village Ground Regulations and will apply to staff, partners, visitors and spectators. Any refusal will cause the person not to be admitted into the stadium.

The following articles must not be brought within the ground: knives, fireworks, smoke canisters, air-horns, flares, weapons, dangerous or hazardous items, laser devices, bottles, glass vessels, cans, golf umbrellas, poles and any article that might be used as a weapon and/or compromise public safety. Any person in possession of such items will be refused entry to the ground.

Please note that no food and drink is to be brought into the stadium.

Catering

The Red Zone Café in the Legends Bar (situated at the front of the Kingstone Press West Stand) opens at 5.00pm and is the perfect place to get in the mood for the game, with a family-friendly atmosphere alongside fantastic food offers and the chance to meet Fred The Red.

There are also catering kiosks available in each stand which will be open from 6pm, serving a variety of hot and cold snacks along with hot beverages and both soft drinks and alcoholic beverages.
