Leigh Sports Village is the biggest investment in public sport and recreational facilities in the Wigan Borough for many years and will transform Leigh into one of the finest hubs of activity in the North West.

The extensive facilities include Athletics track, 3rd Generation artificial and grass sports pitches, Sports Centre, Sixth Form College, Leisure and Retail Outlets including a Four Star Hotel. The centrepiece of the development is a 10,000-seater stadium, which will be the new home of Leigh Centurions Rugby League team, and Leigh RMI football team.

As this facility starts to be handed over we seek to recruit a number of personnel who will play a key role in the opening and operation of the Leigh Sports Village Complex.

We seek people with a commitment to be a team player, enthusiastic, have a positive attitude and experience in a customer led environment, preferably in a sport and leisure related field and an ambition to bring the benefits and enjoyment of sports and leisure to the community as a whole.

We offer a competitive salary range for each position, the starting point of which will be negotiable dependant upon qualifications and experience.

All posts will include evening and weekend work and will be subject to an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau disclosure.

Experience of SAGE software is a distinct advantage as is the ability to operate a payroll and manage spreadsheets. Weekend work will be required.

Ground Safety Stewards

As a safety steward you will become an integral part of the safety management team. Your basic duties will include enforcement of the management’s safety policy, the requirements of the safety certificate and all ground regulations. We offer competitive rates of pay for the position, the starting point of which will be negotiable dependant upon qualifications and experience.
