Established in 1977, Leigh East is a large amateur rugby league club with teams from Under 7's through to Over 35's. The club is based at the LSV Sports Pavilion and plays its home matches on the sports pitches.

Leigh Harriers Amateur Athletics Club, formed in 1909, has over 100 years of history. The club is based at the athletics stadium and provides athletics for all levels of the community. The club achieved Community Amateur Sports Club status in 2006 and has over 20 highly qualified coaches which have trained athletes who have represented the club at regional, national and international level.
