Leigh Sports Village is closely monitoring the evolving situation with coronavirus (COVID-19) on a day-by-day basis, and following any guidance issued by football and rugby league governing bodies and the UK Government.
After the Premier League, EFL, Women’s Super League and Football Association decided to postpone all professional football activity until April 3 at the earliest, the RFL have now also decided to suspend the Betfred Championship until that date at the earliest.
This means that Leigh Centurions’ game against Oldham on Saturday has been postponed.
We will make a further statement in the morning but for now, please familiarise yourselves with the latest UK government advice on coronavirus. We also remind everyone of the importance of following routine health and hygiene guidelines, such as regular hand washing and covering the mouth and nose when sneezing and coughing. As a reminder, the current advice is that if you have symptoms of a high temperature or a new continuous cough you should stay at home for 7 days and if you live with other people, they should stay at home for 14 days from the day the first person got symptoms.
We will continue to issue updates as the situation develops. Thank you for your continued support.
