Experience Every Moment: New Audio Descriptive Commentary Launch
Leigh Sports Village are proud to support Manchester United introducing a new and enhanced Audio Descriptive Commentary (ADC) service for blind and partially sighted supporters.
Developed in partnership with Alan March Sport (AMS), the new service delivers rich, real-time audio description designed specifically for supporters with visual impairments, helping bring every tackle, pass, shot, save and celebration to life. Unlike traditional commentary, Audio Descriptive Commentary focuses on painting a complete picture of the action, atmosphere and key moments as they happen. The new Audio Descriptive Commentary (ADC) service applies to all future Manchester United Women’s games at Leigh Sports Village.
Women’s Team Launch
Officially launching on 3rd October at Leigh Sports Village (Manchester United Women VS Liverpool Women’s match), this fixtures will mark the first opportunity for supporters to experience the club’s new generation of ADC receivers and enhanced descriptive commentary service.
Powered by Partnership
The launch has also been made possible through the support of the Manchester United Disabled Supporters’ Association (MUDSA), whose continued commitment to improving accessibility helps ensure that every supporter can enjoy matchday in an inclusive and welcoming environment.
How to Access the Service:
- Request: Supporters who wish to request a commentary headset should contact accessibility@manutd.co.uk with their Supporter ID and seat details, or apply through the club ticket office, at least 24 hours prior to kick-off.
- Delivery: Matchday Accessibility Team will deliver the audio device directly to your seat on matchday.
- Headphones: While a small number of earphones are available; supporters are encouraged to bring their own (standard 3.5mm jack) for comfort and hygiene.
- Return: One of our access co-ordinators will collect your receiver from you at the end of the match. If you are unable to locate them please leave your receiver at the main stadium reception. Receivers are provided for individual matches and cannot be retained for future matches or for the remainder of the season.
At Manchester United and Leigh Sports Village, we believe football should be accessible to everyone. This new Audio Descriptive Commentary service represents another step forward in creating an inclusive matchday experience where every supporter can share in the excitement, passion and atmosphere of the game.
We look forward to welcoming supporters to experience the new ADC service this October. All Red All Equal.
