Formerly Leigh Centurions, Leigh Leopards are a professional rugby league club, founded in 1878, who play in the Betfred Super League. They play all their home matches at Leigh Sports Village and their biggest and most recent achievement was winning the Betfred Challenge Cup in 2023. Leigh Leopards have a deep-rooted connection with their fiercely loyal fans who display their unwavering support week on week.

Manchester United Women have played all their home games at Leigh Sports Village since their inception, starting with their title-winning FA women’s Championship campaign in the 2018/19 season. They have continued to excel throughout their subsequent seasons in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League, currently being the winners of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup for the 23/24 season.

Manchester United Under 21s also play their home fixtures at Leigh Sports Village making LSV a proven breeding ground for the next generation of Old Trafford stars. Fans have seen the likes of Marcus Rashford, Scott McTominay and Alejandro Garnacho all graduating to the first team squad in recent years.

Leigh Harriers Athletics Club was formed in September 1909 and has an unbroken record of providing athletics for all the community. In 2006 the club achieved Community Amateur Sports Club status and became one of only four clubs in the Greater Manchester area to be awarded Club Mark Accreditation and was reaffirmed in 2013.

The Club’s home is on the Leigh Sports Village site, a top-class facility including a full size athletics track. Current athletes have represented Great Britain, England, Northern Counties, Greater Manchester, Wigan Borough, and Wigan Schools.

The club accepts young people for training from 9 years old and competes in track and field, road racing, cross country, and fell running,  in all National, Regional, County, and local competitions.

The hotel is ideally located opposite Leigh Sports Village stadium. The hotel opened in October 2014 and has been completely refurbished throughout with 135 bright and spacious modern en-suite bedrooms, all with air conditioning, a safe and flat screen TVs. There is a range of courses available including A-levels, Animal Management, Business, Beauty, Early Years, Health & Social Care, Digital Media, Hairdressing, Music, Public services, Science. The Centre of Sporting Excellence offers world class facilities which include a swimming pool, gymnasium, athletics stadium, 3G astroturf pitches and an indoor sports hall. 

The Whistling Wren pub is situated on the entrance to the Leigh Sports Village site. Offering a great atmosphere, exceptional levels of service, quality food from its Two for One menu and an extensive Specials Board it caters for everybody including families. The children’s outdoor play area and indoor Kids’ Zone for under 5s will keep the little ones entertained while waiting for your order.

The UK’s fourth largest food retailer with over 455 stores, Morrisons Leigh is the company’s 469th store. The company has achieved numerous awards, including fresh produce, meat and drinks retailer of the year (2010). 

Established in 1977, Leigh East is a large amateur rugby league club with teams from Under 7’s through to Over 35’s. The club is based at the LSV Arena and plays its home matches on the sports pitches, utilising it’s bar for social events.
