World Cup Themed Football Tournament
A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our World Cup-themed 6-a-side men’s football tournament. It was fantastic to see so many teams come together for an exciting day of football and friendly competition. Congratulations to Germany, who were crowned tournament champions and took home the £500 cash prize. Special recognition also goes to Kian, who was named the player of the tournament. Well done also to France and England, who secured second and third place respectively after some impressive performances throughout the tournament.

Youth Football Tournaments
Leigh Sports Hub are proud to have hosted another successful Winter Grassroots Football Tournament for junior players, building on the fantastic response we’ve had in previous years. The event continues to grow, attracting young footballers, families and grassroots clubs from across the region. The 2025 festive football celebration delivered exactly what it promised, a full day of energy, teamwork and unforgettable moments. Designed as a one day junior football tournament, it brought together a wide range of grassroots teams in a fun and professionally organised environment. From the first kick to the final whistle, the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement and community spirit.
A huge well done to Bolton Lads and Girls Club Under 8’s team, who secured a brilliant win in the final against East Leigh Lions. Their number 72 also earned the Man of the Match title for an outstanding performance. Congratulations to all teams who took part, the level of talent, effort and sportsmanship on display was exceptional. Think your team could be lifting the trophy next year? We’re already preparing for our 2026 junior grassroots football tournaments for Under 8’s, Under 10’s and Under 12’s teams and we’d love to welcome even more clubs to take part. All of the matches take place on our fantastic 3G pitch facilities, which meet standards set by FIFA, the International Rugby Board, and the RFL.
