Leigh Centurions and Wigan Warriors have named their respective squads for the ‘Battle of the Borough’ pre-season clash taking place at Leigh Sports Village Stadium this Sunday (17th January, 3pm kick off).

Rangi Chase, Cory Paterson, Dayne Weston, Willie Tonga and Reni Maitua are all expected to feature in a Leigh Centurions side for the first time while newly appointed skipper Micky Higham will proudly lead out his hometown club against one of his former clubs.

The Leigh Centurions squad is as follows; Gregg McNally; Adam Higson; Greg Worthington; Willie Tonga; Liam Kay; Martyn Ridyard; Fuifui Moimoi; Bob Beswick; Dayne Weston; Gareth Hock; Cory Paterson; Micky Higham; Jonny Pownall; Reni Maitua; Jamie Acton; Tom Spencer; Lewis Foster; Sam Hopkins; Andrew Dixon; Rangi Chase; Tom Armstrong; Eze Harper.

Meanwhile, on naming his squad, Wigan Warriors coach Shaun Wane said “We’re really looking forward to our annual game with Leigh at the Sports Village. The England players have only recently returned to training and won’t take part in this one. It’s also a little early for the likes of Micky McIlorum, Dan Sarginson, Dom Crosby and Willie Isa who all had surgery during the off-season.”
