Business Support & Box Office Assistant Manager – 40 hours per week

Leigh Sports Village are looking to recruit a Business Support & Box Office Assistant Manager to work within the Leigh Sports Village on a full-time basis, primarily assisting in the Ticket Office but also offering areas of support elsewhere in the business when required, including occasionally covering reception shifts and other roles as required. You will be required to deputise for the Box Office Manager in his absence.

The role will be based on 40 hours per week with an expectation to be available to work for all stadium fixtures (primarily Leigh Centurions, Manchester United Women and Manchester United U23s) along with any other applicable events. These fixtures take place primarily at weekends but also occasionally evenings and Bank Holidays, with any applicable match day hours including within the 40 hours for that particular week.

Accountable to the Box Office Manager, you will be expected to undertake a full and thorough understanding of the back-office VMS ticket system to ensure the business retains a broad knowledge base of the system and related operations.

Your main duties will concern the selling and administration of match tickets and season tickets through our ticketing system, deal with customer queries whilst also acting as an internal information point, using your skills to collate reports to assist with the full match day safety operation, attending internal meetings where necessary.

Your role will be largely customer-facing and as such it is essential to be able to provide quality customer service to personal callers, have an excellent telephone manner and be able to work efficiently under pressure. You will be required to handle cash and/or credit card payments and process them via the ticketing system and will be responsible for all payment methods that you receive.

Although full training will be provided for use of the ticketing system, good IT skills are essential along with previous experience of a customer service role, cash handling and event operations.

Part-Time Receptionist – 30 hours per week

Salary £8.91 per hour

At the heart of the site a 12,000 capacity Stadium which is home of Super League’s Leigh Centurions and Manchester United Women’s and U23s team.

Leigh Sports Village Company is currently seeking a part-time Receptionist to fulfil a 30 hour week which will include some evenings and weekends.

The successful candidate will be required to attend to the needs of Stadium visitors and provide them with the relevant information and advice whilst adhering to an excellent standard of customer care and promoting the good image of the Stadium and Sports Village.

The Receptionist’s duties will include; general administrative duties, greeting and directing stadium visitors including conference delegates, and match day hospitality guests, answering and directing telephone calls, receiving and handing over information. The role will also include support to the Ticket Office as and when required.

You will need to be highly motivated, possess excellent communication and people skills, be able to work under own initiative and as a member of a team. Previous experience in the role would be advantageous.

Deputy Safety Officer

Leigh Sports Village Company is looking to appoint a full-time Deputy Safety Officer to deputise and assist the Safety & Security Officer, ensuring the safety of staff and visitors to the Sports Village on both match day and non-match day in accordance with the General Safety Certificate, Safety Policy Statement and Health and Safety Policy.

The successful candidate must possess a NVQ Level 4 in Spectator Safety Management or alternatively demonstrate an equivalent level of skills and experience (it is a requirement of the post to gain this qualification as part of your ongoing training), be fully conversant with the requirements of the ‘Green Guide’ to Safety at Sports Grounds and have a sound knowledge of health and safety legislation and policy.

You will need to be highly motivated, have excellent communication and people skills, be able to work under your own initiative and also as part of a team.

The position will include bank holiday, evening and weekend work.

Casual Recreation Assistants at the Leigh Sports Village Arena

The primary role will be to assist in the operation of the Sports Arena, ensuring an efficient and safe operation of the facility. This will include the erection and dismantling of sports equipment, cleaning duties and to assist with reception duties.

We seek people who preferably have previous experience within a sport and leisure related field with an ambition to bring the benefits and enjoyment of sports and leisure to the community as a whole.

Coaching experience is preferred to help with the delivery of our holiday activity programme.

Successful candidates will also need to be highly motivated, have excellent communication and people skills, be able to work under their own initiative and also as a member of a team. Candidates need to be a minimum of 18 years or older.
