Young people enjoyed the opportunity of a lifetime at Leigh Sports Village last month as Launchpad held a day of car-based activities for its students. Dave Lewis Driving Training and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service came to LSV with a car and a driving simulator, with Mr Lewis giving all students a chance to drive, an experience that some thought they would never have.

“Here at Launchpad we aim to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to fulfil their dreams, and for some this is driving a car,” said Chloe Challinor from Expanse Group.

“It was fantastic to see so many learners with a smile on their face, knowing they had achieved something. Many of the learners are now considering driving lessons.”

The Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service also brought their driving simulator van which allowed students to see and feel the effects and consequences of drink and drug driving, speeding and being distracted by a mobile phone.
