Leigh Sports Village’s popular Christmas party nights were given added atmosphere this year thanks to the involvement of innovative local charity My Life, one of LSV’s valued partners.

The doorway and decorations for the Alice In Wonderland-themed nights were created by members of My Life, with support from Wendy Boyers from Umbrella Community Arts. My Life aims to make lives better for people of all ages who need support to live a good life.

“They loved the chance to be involved,” said My Life Operational Manager Tracey Tolley. “It gave them a goal to work towards, and it’s so important that we nurture their skills and gifts. When they saw the finished doorway and decorations being used at such a prestigious event, they were just so proud – as were we.”

Leigh Sports Village exists to provide state of the art facilities for the whole community – not just for sport, but education, health and leisure too. Kim Webster, LSV marketing and sales manager, said that collaborating with My Life had been incredibly rewarding for everyone involved.

“We wanted to take our guests on a journey to Wonderland this year and My Life produced some fantastic themed props, such as giant playing cards suspended from the ceiling and toadstools. But most impressive of all was the production of a giant rabbit hole, which guests stepped through in order to reach Wonderland. The dedication and attention to detail from the My Life team was outstanding.”
