Stage times

Gates open at 5pm, and the concert is due to begin with support act Shane Filan at approximately 7pm. All stage times will only be confirmed on the day of the concert. The concert is scheduled to end at 10.3opm.


Parking and travel information 

Leigh Sports Village Stadium is at Sale Way, Leigh, WN7 4JY but please note there is no public parking on the Leigh Sports Village site except for accredited guests.

BY CAR

Please again note there is no public parking on the Leigh Sports Village site for the Lionel Richie concert except for accredited guests. The approach to Leigh Sports Village on the A579 Atherleigh Way is expected to be very busy.

From the East: M60, Manchester
Take Jn 14 from the M60 along the A580 westbound for approximately 15 minutes. Leigh Sports Village is signposted off the A580 onto the A579 Atherleigh Way on your right. The stadium is on your right after approximately 1.5 miles.

From the West: Liverpool, A580, M6
Take Jn 23 Haydock Park from the M6 along the A580 Eastbound for approxi-mately 10 minutes. Leigh Sports Village is signposted off the A580 onto the A579Atherleigh Way on your left. The stadium is on your right after approximately 1.5 miles.

EVENT DAY PARKING

1. Pennington Flash (WN7 3PA) – 1,000 cars approx. No pre-booking facilities available. 5 minute walk approx.
2. Leigh RUFC (WN7 3NA) – 500 cars approx. For advance bookings please visit leighrufc.ticketsource.co.uk. Leaflets will be given showing route to stadium. 15 minute walk approx./plan-your-visit/
3. Leigh Miners (WN7 4EF) – 60 spaces. 10 minute walk approx. Pre book on 01942 671782
4. Welch Mill Carpets (WN7 4DU) – 45 spaces. 10 minute walk approx. No pre-booking available

PARKING FOR PEOPLE WITH LIMITED MOBILITY & SPECIAL NEEDS

The designated car parking spaces in close proximity to the Stadium available for Blue Badge holders have now all been allocated.

DROP OFF/PICK UP POINTS

Drop offs are permitted on the LSV site and will be facilitated on Turner Way to the rear of the North Stand. As you drive onto the site please turn left in front of the Whistling Wren Public House and follow the temporary signs. Exit from the site in a car by travelling to the roundabout at the end of Turner Way, following it right the way around and back onto Turner Way and onto Atherleigh Way.

Picks ups are not from the same place you dropped off: Atherleigh Way will be closed northbound from 9.30pm so private vehicles can park on Atherleigh Way while waiting for passengers who have attended the concert.

TAXI

There will be a taxi rank on Turner Way after the concert.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Leigh Sports Village is a ten minute walk from Leigh Bus Station in the town centre, which has regular connections with Manchester, Bolton, Wigan, Warrington and St. Helens. Alternatively the 597 bus service runs directly from the bus station to the stadium until 1651 before the concert – but not afterwards.

The nearest train stations are Atherton (4.2miles), Newton-le-Willows (5.3miles) and Wigan North Western on the West Coast mainline (7.9miles).

Access
Wheelchair and disabled patrons should call Ticketmaster on 0800 988 4440 (opening hours Monday-Friday 9:00am-6:00pm, Saturday 10:30am-3:30pm) to purchase tickets.

What time does it start and end?
Access to the venue will commence at 5.00pm. Please enter by the entrances indicated by signage and stewards. From here follow the signage around the venue to find the area, block, row and seat indicated on your ticket. The concert will commence at approx 7.00pm. Please allow plenty of time for your journey, parking and transfer, security and ticket checks and getting to your seat.

The show will finish by 10.30pm.

Are there any age restrictions?
No under 14s unless accompanied by an adult.

Are all seats reserved?
All seats are sold as fully reserved for the concert. There will be seating on the pitch, which is not covered. Seating plans are available on the ticket agents’ websites.

Will there be a support act?
Shane Filan will be joining Lionel Richie as a special guest.

What facilities will be available on the day?
A range of food and refreshments will be available to purchase inside the venue.
Please note there will be limited credit and debit card facilities. Cash Machines will not be available within the venue.

What can I bring into the stadium on the day?
Please bring appropriate clothing to the forecast weather and your ticket.
We are unable to allow you to bring in food and drink, professional audio or visual recording equipment or any large bags.
Please note there will be no left luggage facility at the venue.

What about security checks?

Arrive in good time as our enhanced security measures may mean that it might take a little longer to get into the venue.
In order to make the screening process go as smoothly as possible, please keep all personal items to a minimum.
Only small handbags and shoulder bags will be allowed. No large bags, rucksacks, picnic hampers or umbrellas are permitted.
Lastly, please smile as you may be recorded on camera as you enter and move around the site.
