Leigh Sports Village is a pioneering multi-sector development and is now one of the finest sporting hubs in the Northwest. The Sports Village provides state of the art facilities for sport, education, wellbeing, leisure and culture and serves the local community and the region as a whole.

The stadium is at the heart of the complex which is home to Leigh Centurions Rugby League Club, Manchester United Women’s and Manchester United’s U23s football teams. The stadium hosts mainstream concerts such as Elton John & Lionel Richie and major sporting events. This year the Sports Village will host both the UEFA Women’s European Football Championships and Rugby League World Cup.

The Leigh Sports Village complex also includes a sports arena with state-of-the-art sports pitches, athletics stadium, sports centre, youth hub, higher education college, hotel, restaurants & retail outlets.

We are looking for a committed individual with a passion for sports stadia and the leisure industry with the drive to make a real difference. As Stadium & Operations Director you will join our Senior Leadership Team reporting directly to the Chief Executive.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the stadium and oversee the effective operation of the Leigh Sports Village complex and facilities under the direct management of Leigh Sports Village company including management responsibilities at Pennington Flash Nature Reserve. You will be required to maintain health and safety standards throughout the organisation and oversee the stadium safety team, ensuring compliance of the General Safely Certificate.

Effective partnership working with key stake holders and organisations will be an essential part of the role.

As part of the Senior Leadership Team you will support the development, implementation of the LSV business plan, ensuring effective management of financial budgets and resources.

You will need to be proactive, organised and be able to work to deadlines and be accountable for your work.  You must be operations focused and have a strategic vision on how you can take the business to the next level.

Several years’ experience, and a proven track record of success in a similar role along with experience in the stadia/leisure sector are essential.

You must have flexible working pattern to fit in with the needs of the business which will include working event and matchdays.
