Front of House/Café Assistant, Pennington Flash Country Park

£18,275-£18,500 plus pension (40 hours per week/ Part Time availability salary to be pro rata)

The primary role will be to work as part of a team within the Hub Café at Pennington Flash preparing and serving refreshments such as hot and cold drinks with light lunch options operating effectively, efficiently, and safely, ultimately providing the users of Pennington Flash with a quality experience.

Responsible to the Café Manager / Supervisor, the post holder will be expected to work under their own initiative and also as part of a team.

You will be expected to support the operation of the Café alongside the Café supervisor and Manager, working as a team with other Café Assistants taking customer orders preparing and serving food and drinks. You will provide excellent customer service and high levels of professional conduct and operate as part of the team responsible for counting and dealing with monies taken at the café.

In the absence of the Café Supervisor, be prepared to take on additional responsibilities for café operations along with other similar duties as and when required. You must comply with Food allergens and Health & Safety policies and regulations, ensuring they are always adhered to.

It is essential that you have previous experience working with the general public or within a similar role, and ideally will have a knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation along with knowledge of cooking for customers with allergens and experience working as a café barista/assistant.

A minimum of 3 GCSE’s (mathematics required) and a Food Safety Level 2 certificate are essential.
